US EXIM Bank approves $66M for Côte d’Ivoire Data Center

August 25, 2025
1 min read

The first transaction approved today was a $66 million guarantee to support the construction of a national data center in Côte d'Ivoire.

The Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM)  has approved a $66 million guarantee to fund the construction of a national data center in Côte d’Ivoire. The project is set to be a significant milestone for the region, marking the first data center EXIM has ever supported in sub-Saharan Africa.

The initiative is part of EXIM’s China and Transformational Exports Program, which is designed to help U.S. companies compete against the growing influence of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) in key global markets. The deal will directly displace a Chinese competitor, reinforcing U.S. technology leadership in a fast-growing region.

The equipment for the data center will be supplied by Cybastion Institute of Technology, LLC, a Washington, DC-based small business that specializes in cybersecurity and digital transformation solutions for African countries. The project is expected to support U.S. jobs and provide Côte d’Ivoire with a secure, reliable digital ecosystem for its public information.
