Algeria Launches New Technology Hub to Drive Digital Transformation
The new hub is expected to play a central role in accelerating digitalization, particularly in the finance sector, by consolidating expertise, infrastructure, and technological resources in collaboration with the NIIF.
The National Investment Fund (NIIF) has taken a significant step in advancing Algeria’s digital agenda with the creation of a new technology hub. The initiative, unveiled on September 15 in Algiers, is part of the implementation of the country’s National Digital Transformation Strategy.
During a signing ceremony, NIIF General Manager Saleh Labbani formalized the agreement alongside the heads of four leading companies in the sector: Boumediene Senussi, General Manager of Optimum Telecom Algeria (Gezi); Boujemaa Awaroun, General Manager of IT-DEV; Falla Kawar, President and General Manager of INET; and Jalal Saidouni, General Manager of SMART TEST.
The new hub is expected to play a central role in accelerating digitalization, particularly in the finance sector, by consolidating expertise, infrastructure, and technological resources in collaboration with the NIIF.
Officials noted that this structural step aligns with Algeria’s broader ambition to modernize state institutions, drive economic development, and strengthen the country’s position as a reference player in the technology sector at both national and regional levels.
