Burkinabe Executives Trained in China on Digital Economy and Fiscal Governance
The MTDPCE highlighted that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to making digital transformation a central driver of socio-economic development while deepening cooperation with China.

The Ministry of Digital Transition, Posts and Electronic Communications (MTDPCE) has announced that six executives from Burkina Faso’s public administration participated in an international seminar on the digital economy and fiscal governance in China. The training took place from September 4 to 17, 2025, in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province.
The program, titled “Chinese Solution to Digital Economy and Tax Governance”, was organized by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce in partnership with the Jiangxi Vocational College of Foreign Studies. Over two weeks, participants engaged in theoretical courses, case studies, and field visits, focusing on governance of the digital economy and digital taxation, with an emphasis on opportunities linked to the Belt and Road Initiative.
Two MTDPCE representatives took part in the training: Dr. Pousseni Bakouan, expert at the Permanent Secretariat of Innovation and Awareness on Emerging Technologies, and Rasmata Compaoré, technical advisor at the National Agency for the Promotion of Information and Communication Technologies (ANPTIC).
The closing ceremony on September 17, 2025, saw participants awarded certificates by local authorities in Jiangxi Province. According to the ministry, the training provided valuable insights into modernizing tax systems through digital solutions, strengthening digital governance, and supporting Burkina Faso’s digital transition.
