Through this initiative, Medusa, inwi, and Orange Maroc collectively contribute to a critical chapter in Morocco’s telecommunications history and its ongoing digital transformation.

The Medusa Submarine Cable System has officially landed in Nador, Morocco, marking a major milestone in the country’s international connectivity and digital infrastructure development. The landing establishes a new strategic access point linking Morocco to Euro Mediterranean connectivity networks and expanding data exchange routes between North Africa and Europe.

The landing was made possible through the collaboration of the Medusa consortium and local partners inwi and Orange Maroc. The new submarine cable is expected to significantly enhance the capacity, resilience, and redundancy of Morocco’s national network, while supporting long term objectives around digital sovereignty, network reliability, and broader digital inclusion across the Kingdom.

The Medusa landing positions 2025 as a landmark year for the project, reflecting steady progress and expansion across the Mediterranean region. For Morocco, the project reinforces the country’s ambitions to strengthen its role as a regional digital hub, in alignment with the Maroc Digital 2030 strategy. Through this initiative, Medusa, inwi, and Orange Maroc collectively contribute to a critical chapter in Morocco’s telecommunications history and its ongoing digital transformation.
