The initiative underscores the role of teamwork in driving sustainable progress, with the ICT hub positioned as a long-term investment in both learners and educators.

The Government of Zimbabwe has commissioned a new ICT Hub at JITI High School in Shamva, Mashonaland Central Province, marking a significant step toward expanding digital access in schools. The commissioning was led by the Minister of ICT, Postal and Courier Services, Hon. T.A. Mavetera, alongside the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Hon. Torerai Moyo, highlighting strong inter-ministerial collaboration in advancing national development priorities.

The initiative underscores the role of teamwork in driving sustainable progress, with the ICT hub positioned as a long-term investment in both learners and educators. By providing access to modern digital tools, the facility aims to bridge the digital divide and equip students with essential 21st-century skills required in an increasingly technology-driven world.

The newly commissioned hub is the first of its kind in the area and features a fully containerised setup equipped with 40 high-end computers, a 10KVA solar power system, and Starlink internet connectivity. Spearheaded by Ground Force Industrial, the project reflects the Government’s Whole-of-Government approach, bringing together public institutions and private sector partners to expand digital infrastructure and connectivity in line with the Ministry of ICT’s mandate.

Following the commissioning ceremony, the Ministry of ICT, Postal and Courier Services extended its outreach to Wadzanai High School, also in Shamva. The Ministry donated computers, a Starlink kit, printers, and a whiteboard to further support teaching and learning, reinforcing the government’s commitment to inclusive digital education and improved learning outcomes across the province.
