January 23, 2026
1 min read

The agreement focuses on the provision of satellite communications services, terrestrial infrastructure, and secure networks to support national security requirements.

Qatar’s national satellite operator, Es’hailSat,  has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Qatar Armed Forces (QAF)  to enhance the country’s space, defence, and communications capabilities. The agreement focuses on the provision of satellite communications services, terrestrial infrastructure, and secure networks to support national security requirements.

Under the partnership, Es’hailSat will deliver resilient and secure communication solutions designed to enhance the operational readiness of the Qatar Armed Forces. The collaboration aims to ensure continuity of communications across all operational scenarios, reinforcing the country’s ability to maintain secure and reliable connectivity in both routine and critical situations.

The MoU aligns with Qatar’s broader strategy to strengthen sovereign capabilities in space and defence technologies. By leveraging national satellite infrastructure and secure terrestrial networks, the partnership supports the development of robust, self-reliant communications systems critical to national security.

This strategic collaboration underscores Qatar’s commitment to advancing its space and defence ecosystem while ensuring secure, mission-critical communications for its armed forces.
