The strategy includes the “AI Made in Morocco” initiative, designed to develop a national innovation ecosystem and support the creation of locally designed technological solutions.

The Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform  has underscored the growing importance of artificial intelligence in driving economic and industrial transformation. Speaking at a scientific seminar hosted by Euro-Mediterranean University of Fez in Fez, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, said AI has become one of the most strategic drivers of modern economic change.

The seminar, held under the theme “Artificial Intelligence and Innovation in the Digital Transformation of Enterprises and Their Applications in Industry X.0 and Health Industries,” brought together academic and industry stakeholders to explore the role of emerging technologies in transforming business and industrial ecosystems.

During her remarks, the minister noted that the world is undergoing an unprecedented technological shift. She pointed out that the global artificial intelligence market is projected to grow from around $189 billion in 2023 to approximately $4.8 trillion by 2033, highlighting the increasing role of AI in reshaping economies and strengthening corporate competitiveness.

Seghrouchni said Morocco’s push toward digital transformation aligns with the strategic vision of Mohammed VI, which places digital innovation at the center of modernizing the national economy and promoting technological development.

As part of this effort, the ministry is implementing the Digital Morocco 2030 Strategy, which positions artificial intelligence as a key pillar of economic transformation. The strategy includes the “AI Made in Morocco” initiative, designed to develop a national innovation ecosystem and support the creation of locally designed technological solutions.

The event also featured the signing of a founding agreement to establish the Al‑Jazari Institute of Industry X.0, a new institution aimed at strengthening research, innovation, and collaboration between universities and the industrial sector. The agreement was signed by the ministries of Industry and Commerce, Digital Transition and Administration Reform, and Economy and Finance, alongside several academic institutions including Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University, Moulay Ismail University, and Al Akhawayn University.

Authorities say the initiative represents another step toward building an integrated national innovation ecosystem, strengthening technological sovereignty, and positioning Morocco as a regional hub for digital industry and artificial intelligence.
