SABC Appoints Dr. Vuyo Nyembezi as Group Executive for Technology

SABC has announced the appointment of Dr. Vuyo Nyembezi as Group Executive: Technology, with effect from 15 May 2026.
According to the public broadcaster, Dr. Nyembezi brings more than 20 years of experience in the broadcasting industry and within the SABC environment. The corporation said he has demonstrated strong leadership, strategic vision, and a commitment to innovation and operational excellence throughout his career.
The SABC noted that Dr. Nyembezi previously served in an acting capacity during a key period of digital transformation and modernisation within the organisation. His permanent appointment, the broadcaster said, represents an important step in advancing the SABC’s ambition of becoming a digitally enabled and future-focused public broadcaster.
