Airtel Malawi Strengthens Digital Access with New Lilongwe Outlet

Airtel Malawi Plc has officially opened a new state-of-the-art Airtel Shop in Area 12, Lilongwe, marking another milestone in the company’s efforts to enhance customer experience and expand access to digital services across Malawi.
The new outlet is designed to provide customers with a modern and convenient service environment, bringing together connectivity solutions, high-speed internet services, smart devices, and Airtel Money offerings under one roof. The company said the investment reflects its commitment to delivering simpler, faster, and more accessible services to customers.
Speaking during the official opening ceremony, Airtel Malawi Managing Director Aashish Dutt said the new shop demonstrates the company’s dedication to innovation and customer-centric service delivery. He noted that Airtel is focused on bringing digital services closer to communities and enabling more Malawians to participate in the country’s growing digital economy.
“This shop reflects our commitment to innovation and delivering a simpler, faster, and more accessible customer experience. We are bringing digital services closer to the people and enabling more Malawians to participate in the digital economy,” Dutt said.
The launch was attended by Lilongwe City Deputy Mayor, Councillor Trizah Siloh, who welcomed Airtel Malawi’s investment in the capital city. She described the development as a strong indication of Lilongwe’s rapid growth and emphasized the importance of reliable digital connectivity and mobile financial services in supporting economic development.
Siloh noted that partnerships between the private sector and local authorities are helping transform Lilongwe into a smart and connected city, adding that digital infrastructure and mobile banking services have become essential drivers of modern economic growth.
According to Airtel Malawi, the new Airtel Shop is more than a retail outlet, serving as a comprehensive digital hub that offers customers convenient access to telecommunications, financial services, and digital solutions.
