The high-level engagement brought together departmental staff to evaluate past performance, address operational hurdles, and establish a clear, results-driven implementation framework aligned with the LTA’s broader Five-Year Strategic Plan.

The Licensing and Regulations Department of the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA)  has declared a renewed commitment to institutional excellence following the conclusion of an intensive three-day strategic retreat held over the weekend in Kakata City. The high-level engagement brought together departmental staff to evaluate past performance, address operational hurdles, and establish a clear, results-driven implementation framework aligned with the LTA’s broader Five-Year Strategic Plan.

Throughout the three-day event, participants conducted a comprehensive review of the department’s core responsibilities. Staff examined existing regulatory and licensing functions, assessed institutional performance, and deliberated on practical strategies to improve efficiency, accountability, and service delivery within the telecommunications sector. In addition to technical and strategic planning, the retreat placed a heavy emphasis on fostering teamwork, enhancing collaboration, and building a unified workforce capable of delivering on long-term goals.

Highlighting the significance of the event, LTA Commissioner Ben A. Fofana characterized the gathering as a critical turning point for the department’s operational approach, noting that it marks the beginning of a renewed commitment to excellence and effective execution. He stated that the primary objective was to create a shared roadmap that aligns collective efforts with the LTA’s Strategic Plan, positioning the department to deliver measurable and impactful results.

The retreat concluded with staff members pledging to translate the newly developed strategic frameworks into immediate, concrete actions. Moving forward, the department intends to use this roadmap to reinforce its regulatory mandate and significantly improve its overall performance in the sector.
