Airtel Money Uganda Celebrates Watu Credit’s One Million Smartphone Milestone

Airtel Money Uganda has joined Watu Credit in celebrating a major milestone after the fintech financed its one millionth smartphone through the Watu Simu programme, highlighting efforts to expand digital inclusion across Uganda.
The milestone underscores Watu Credit’s role in improving access to smartphones, enabling more Ugandans to connect to digital services, access online opportunities, and participate in the country’s growing digital economy.
Airtel Money Uganda’s Managing Director, Japhet Aritho, joined Watu Credit executives, partners, and other stakeholders at the celebration, reaffirming the company’s support for initiatives that promote financial and digital inclusion.
Congratulating Watu Credit on the achievement, Airtel Money Uganda commended the company for creating greater access to digital tools and expressed confidence that Watu would continue expanding opportunities for more Ugandans through increased smartphone accessibility.
