The handover, which took place on 30 July 2026, marks the completion of infrastructure preparations required before the site can be integrated into a live telecommunications network.
The new site will provide additional network infrastructure capacity for MTN Uganda, supporting the operator’s efforts to expand coverage and improve the reliability of mobile connectivity across Northern Uganda.
For communities in and around Gulu, the infrastructure is expected to improve access to mobile connectivity and digital services used for communication, business and other everyday activities.
TOA said the development reflects its ongoing partnership with MTN Uganda to provide the infrastructure needed to support the expansion of reliable telecommunications connectivity across the country.
