RSwitch Takes Digital Finance Campaign to Kigali Communities

August 21, 2026
1 min read

The two-day outreach focused on helping people understand and adopt digital financial services by providing demonstrations, answering questions and facilitating the opening of merchant and personal accounts on the spot.

RSwitch  has taken its digital financial inclusion campaign, #TwagiyeKashiresi, directly to communities in Kigali, engaging residents and businesses in Nyabugogo and Gisozi Agakiriro.

The two-day outreach focused on helping people understand and adopt digital financial services by providing demonstrations, answering questions and facilitating the opening of merchant and personal accounts on the spot.

Through eKash, banks and mobile money providers are being brought together to enable easier and more secure digital money transfers. The initiative also provides an avenue for businesses and individuals to learn how to use digital payments and build confidence in transitioning away from cash-based transactions.

The campaign brings together the National Bank of Rwanda, Ministry of ICT & Innovation, Rwanda ICT Chamber, RSwitch, banks, mobile money operators and other financial sector players in a coordinated effort to expand access to digital financial services.

RSwitch said the initiative is aimed at making financial inclusion practical by taking digital finance to the communities where people conduct their daily transactions, rather than limiting conversations about digital payments to institutions and formal settings.
