The discussions focused on progress made on the proposed Digital Media City and the next steps for continued engagement with TNT to advance the project.

Kenya is advancing discussions with the Korea Import-Export Bank (KEXIM) on the proposed Digital Media City (DMC) Infrastructure Project at Konza Technopolis.

Principal Secretary for the State Department of ICT and Digital Economy, Eng. John Kipchumba Tanui, received a KEXIM delegation led by Executive Director Yongjin Jeong following the bank’s due diligence mission at the Technopolis Development Authority (TDA) in Konza.

The discussions focused on progress made on the proposed Digital Media City and the next steps for continued engagement with TNT to advance the project.

Kenya and Korea also explored opportunities for deeper collaboration in emerging digital infrastructure areas, including AI data centres and other strategic technology projects.

Tanui said Konza is increasingly positioning itself as a platform for international partnerships, technology and investment, with the government seeking to develop bankable digital infrastructure capable of attracting investment, fostering innovation, creating jobs and building skills.

The engagement is part of Kenya’s broader efforts to strengthen its digital economy and deepen strategic technology partnerships with South Korea.
