In her new position, she will oversee Microsoft's engagement with governments and enterprise customers across East Africa, while supporting partnerships aimed at expanding the region's digital economy.

Microsoft  has appointed Angela Nganga as its new Country Lead for East Africa, as the technology company steps up its focus on digital transformation, artificial intelligence and regional innovation.

Nganga joined Microsoft in 2012 and most recently served as Regional Director of Customer Success for East and West Africa. Over the course of her career at the company, she has also held leadership positions including Director of Corporate Affairs for the Middle East and Africa and Education Industry Director for Africa.

Before joining Microsoft, Nganga worked in senior corporate affairs and public policy roles at Telkom Kenya and AAR Health Services Uganda, building experience across technology, communications and policy.

In her new position, she will oversee Microsoft’s engagement with governments and enterprise customers across East Africa, while supporting partnerships aimed at expanding the region’s digital economy.

Her responsibilities will also include strengthening Microsoft’s support for startups and emerging technology businesses, with particular attention to artificial intelligence skills development and workforce readiness.

The appointment comes as AI adoption accelerates across African markets, increasing demand for digital skills, technology infrastructure and locally developed solutions. Microsoft’s expanded focus on the region is expected to support efforts to build a stronger ecosystem of businesses and talent capable of developing and deploying AI technologies.
