Ghana and France Discuss Telecoms Cooperation and Digital Infrastructure Investment
The discussions focused on expanding access to affordable and reliable digital connectivity.
Ghana’s Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations , Hon. Samuel Nartey George, has met with the French Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Diarra Dime-Labille, to discuss strengthening cooperation in the country’s telecommunications and digital sectors.
The discussions focused on expanding access to affordable and reliable digital connectivity. The Minister stressed the importance of developing solutions that reflect the economic realities of Ghanaians while improving access to data and broadcasting services.
The meeting also explored opportunities for French foreign direct investment in Ghana’s digital infrastructure. Hon. Sam George reaffirmed the government’s commitment to creating a competitive and transparent environment capable of attracting investment while improving digital service delivery.
The Minister and Ambassador further discussed approaches to tackling digital disinformation and exchanged views on potential collaboration ahead of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) scheduled for November.
The engagement forms part of Ghana’s efforts to deepen international cooperation, attract investment and strengthen the country’s digital infrastructure and governance ecosystem.
