The discussions covered plans to support entrepreneurs and startups, provide specialised technical and training content, and expand access to programmes in artificial intelligence and deep learning.

Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology  has held discussions with NVIDIA  on expanding cooperation in artificial intelligence, data science, digital skills development and support for the country’s innovation ecosystem.

Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Raafat Hendy, received a delegation from NVIDIA led by Paolo Guglielmini, Vice President of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The meeting explored opportunities for collaboration in artificial intelligence and advanced technologies, research and development, local skills development, and support for entrepreneurs and startups.

The discussions also covered specialised technical and training content, including artificial intelligence, deep learning and training-of-trainers programmes. Both sides examined ways to strengthen local capabilities in AI and entrepreneurship while supporting the needs of developers, researchers and institutions in Egypt.

The meeting also included discussions on preparing a memorandum of understanding that would define the proposed areas of cooperation between Egypt and NVIDIA.

During the meeting, the ministry highlighted Egypt’s efforts to expand the use of artificial intelligence across government and other sectors, including initiatives focused on developing public-sector capabilities and equipping Egyptian professionals with advanced and specialised skills.

Egypt launched its national AI strategy in 2019, alongside initiatives including the National AI Council, the Applied Innovation Center and an AI Responsible AI Charter. The meeting also addressed the second phase of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, covering the 2025–2030 period, including its objectives and implementation progress.

“Egypt has the capabilities and ambition to become a force in artificial intelligence innovation. NVIDIA can accelerate this ambition through its comprehensive suite of tools, including rapid development, software, and artificial intelligence tools, alongside training programs that enable developers to turn their ideas into practical applications. We see a great opportunity to support the AI ecosystem in Egypt to develop solutions that meet local needs and enter the global markets.”

– Mr. Paolo Guglielmini, Vice President of Europe, Middle East, and Africa, NVIDIA

Egypt also highlighted its growing technology ecosystem, availability of skilled professionals and position as a gateway to African markets. The ministry said these factors have helped attract international technology companies that use Egypt as a base for providing technology services, consulting and advisory services to global markets.

The discussions further highlighted the role of Egypt Digital Innovation Centers in strengthening the country’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. The centres provide technology skills development, support for innovators and assistance to entrepreneurs and startups across different governorates.

The two sides are expected to continue discussions around skills development, AI innovation and the wider deployment of artificial intelligence applications as part of Egypt’s 2025–2030 national AI strategy.
