The initiative aims to equip participants with practical skills to use digital devices, access information, manage finances, pursue employment opportunities and support business growth.

MTN Uganda  has trained 407 learners, mainly young people and women from Pader and Lamwo districts, in digital and financial literacy through its MTN Internet Bus programme.

The graduates completed a three-week training programme, which culminated in a ceremony at Angagura Subcounty Headquarters in Pader. The initiative aims to equip participants with practical skills to use digital devices, access information, manage finances, pursue employment opportunities and support business growth.

The programme is implemented through the MTN Uganda Foundation in partnership with Maendeleo Foundation, bringing digital learning directly to communities where access to technology and training may be limited by distance and cost.

Since its launch, the MTN Internet Bus programme has trained more than 7,000 people since 2022, achieving a completion rate of over 90%, according to MTN Uganda. The latest graduation marks another milestone in the programme’s sixth phase, following a ceremony at Makerere Kikoni in September.

MTN Uganda said graduates can continue developing their skills through the free online MTN Skills Academy and explore additional opportunities through MTN ACE.

The initiative forms part of the company’s efforts to advance digital inclusion by expanding access to technology education and helping more Ugandans develop the skills needed to benefit from digital services and economic opportunities.
