MWC Kigali 2025

Africa’s most influential connectivity event makes its return this October as Kigali once again becomes the hub where policymakers, leaders, and innovators converge to define the continent’s digital future. MWC Kigali 2025, taking place from 21–23 October at the Kigali Convention Centre, has established itself as the place where Africa’s technology industry meets the world, a platform that continues to grow in significance and scale each year.

The event continues to expand its scope and scale, featuring more than 230 speakers and over 1,400 companies, with senior-level participation making up nearly half of those in attendance. Delegates represent more than 90 countries, adding up to over 3,400 participants, and the programme offers in excess of 90 hours of content. These numbers underline not only the size of the gathering but also the breadth of discussions and opportunities it creates for the African and global digital ecosystem.

For us at TechAfrica News, it is an honor to be part of this journey once again as the official media partner. We will be on the ground to capture the conversations, highlight the innovations, and share the stories that shape the narrative of Africa’s digital economy. Each year, MWC Kigali delivers fresh momentum, and 2025 promises to be no different — an unmissable gathering where Africa’s future is not only imagined but actively built.

“We are excited to see MWC Kigali return this year as the premier stage for Africa’s digital transformation. Over the past year, we have witnessed the industry evolve in remarkable ways, with mobile and digital technologies driving progress across every sector. As official media partner, TechAfrica News looks forward to capturing these stories, amplifying the voices shaping Africa’s future, and sharing the momentum with a global audience.”
Akim Benamara, Founder and Chief Editor, TechAfrica News

Converge. Connect. Create.
Shaping Africa’s Digital Blueprint

This year’s theme is striking, dynamic, and designed to put you at the centre of technology, people, and ideas. Under the overarching theme Converge. Connect. Create., MWC Kigali 2025 delivers the blueprint for future industries and societies, weaving together debates and discussions that cut across Africa’s most pressing priorities and opportunities.

Over three days, the event will dive into four powerful thought-leadership themes that frame Africa’s digital story and spark the conversations that matter most.

Connected Continent

Africa’s connectivity story is one of acceleration and scale. Affordable smartphones, deeper mobile penetration, and expanding digital infrastructure are bringing millions online and unlocking new opportunities in trade, education, and health. As 5G deployment advances, the continent is poised to achieve a leap in speed, reliability, and capacity—reshaping how businesses operate and how communities thrive in the connected age.

The AI Future

Artificial intelligence is moving rapidly from potential to practice. In Africa, it carries the power to transform industries, double economic growth rates, and create new pathways for innovation. This theme explores how African innovators are building AI solutions that respond to local challenges while shaping the continent’s place in the global AI landscape.

Fintech

Financial technology has become the engine of Africa’s digital economy. From mobile money to blockchain and cloud-powered systems, Fintech is expanding access, driving resilience, and empowering millions across the continent. This theme will unpack the next frontier of financial innovation and the role of Fintech in shaping inclusive, sustainable development.

Africa’s Digital Frontier

From creative industries to healthcare and education, digital innovation is reshaping everyday life across the continent. Africa’s digital frontier is marked by bold experimentation, youthful energy, and global influence. Whether it is streaming music, pioneering digital health solutions, or leading ethical debates in AI, the region is laying down new pathways for growth and global engagement. What emerges here will define the next chapter of Africa’s place in the digital world.

Africa’s Digital Future in Focus: Highlights from This Year’s Agenda

This year’s agenda is more ambitious than ever with the introduction of the Ministerial Programme, a high-level forum exploring how mobile technologies can drive socio-economic development and advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The continent’s most influential leaders will gather to chart the next phase of Africa’s digital economy.

As part of this landmark programme, our Chief Editor and Founder Akim Benamara will moderate the high-level panel session “Connectivity Counts: Bridging the Digital Divide”.  addressing how Africa can overcome coverage gaps, affordability barriers, and policy challenges to achieve universal, meaningful connectivity. This marks an important moment for TechAfrica News as we step not only into the role of official media partner, but also into the centre of the conversations shaping Africa’s connected future.
