Starlink Launches in Guinea-Bissau, Expanding West African Footprint
Starlink is now officially live in Guinea-Bissau—its seventh market in West Africa and 22nd across the continent.

Starlink , the satellite internet service by SpaceX, is now officially live in Guinea-Bissau—its seventh market in West Africa and 22nd across the continent.
The launch follows a provisional licence granted in December 2024 and full approval by the National Regulatory Authority for Information and Communication Technologies (ARN-TIC) in April 2025. Officials from ARN-TIC have welcomed the move, noting its potential to support the country’s digital transformation, with internet penetration currently around 30%.
The Starlink Standard Kit is priced on the website at FCFA 228,000 (USD 400), with a monthly residential plan at FCFA 36,000 (USD 63). A 250 GB package is available at FCFA 18,000 (USD 31) monthly, while the Starlink Minikit will retail at FCFA 117,000 (USD 205).
The launch adds momentum to Starlink’s broader expansion across Africa. The company has also secured licences in Somalia and Lesotho, where services are expected to commence soon.
